The Ohaus PA153 Pioneer analytical balance has a capacity of 150g and an accuracy of 0.001g (also called readability), with a high-contrast, backlit LCD screen for viewing results in dim lighting. The external, digital calibration system requires a 100g mass (sold separately), and an indicator on the front panel provides quick confirmation that the balance is level prior to use. Three selectable settings adjust the sensitivity of the balance to compensate for excessive vibration, airflow, and other environmental disturbances. The integral below-balance hook suspends samples beneath the balance for measuring specific gravity and density.
The balance weighs in 16 different international units and one custom unit, and includes an auto tare function that zeroes out the balance over the entire weighing range in one second. It delivers precise weighing results, and performs parts counting and percent weighing tasks. The rear-facing RS232 port is positioned for easy connection to a printer or computer, and built-in functions enable work in compliance with GLP (Good Laboratory Practices) traceability requirements.
